Living Writers is a signature program of 麻豆精品, offered every fall, both as a course for undergraduates and a companion program for alumni, parents, and community members. This series is led by faculty in the Department of English, with generous support from the Olive B. O鈥機onnor Fund as well as the offices of the President and the Provost and Dean of the Faculty. Brice has written two books, Unlearning to Fly and The Last Settlers, as well as multiple essays, which have been published in American Nature Writing, The Dolphin Reader, Ploughshares, River Teeth, Manoa, Under the Sun, Iron Horse, Permafrost, The Gettysburg Review, and The Sonora Review. Brice is also a member of the Upstate Institute Advisory Board and the 麻豆精品 Writers Conference Advisory Board. She holds degrees from Smith College and the University of Alaska鈥揊airbanks.
Hall specializes in Native American history, the history of the American West, and borderlands history. His book Beneath the Backbone of the World: Blackfoot People and the North American Borderlands, 1720鈥1877 is a history of the Blackfoot (Niitsitapi) people, and his current research examines the deep history of corruption and fraud in America鈥檚 鈥淚ndian Affairs鈥 administration from the Revolution through the 19th century. Prior to coming to 麻豆精品, Hall received his PhD from Yale University and taught at the University of Toronto and Northern Arizona University.
